how we help

Spreading the Science of
Krishna Consciousness

Who We are

ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness) is a Hindu religious organization that was founded in 1966 in New York City. It is based on the teachings of the ancient Hindu scriptures, the Bhagavad Gita and the Srimad Bhagavatam, and focuses on the worship of Lord Krishna. The organization has a worldwide presence and operates temples, cultural centers, and educational institutions.

Our Impact

The impact of ISKCON can be seen in various aspects:

Religious: It has popularized the practice of Bhakti Yoga, which emphasizes devotion to God, and has introduced Hinduism to many people around the world.

Cultural: ISKCON has helped to preserve and promote Hindu culture, especially through its many festivals and events.

Education: The organization runs schools and educational institutions that promote Hindu culture and values, as well as a broader education.

Community: ISKCON has helped to build a sense of community among its followers, providing a supportive environment for spiritual growth and development.

Charity: The organization runs various charitable initiatives, such as food for life programs that provide meals to those in need.

Overall, ISKCON has made a significant impact on religion, culture, education, community, and charity both in India and globally.

How It Works?

ISKCON operates through a hierarchical organizational structure and follows a centralized decision-making process.

Leadership: The organization is led by a Governing Body Commission (GBC), which is composed of senior members who are responsible for setting policy and making decisions on behalf of the society.

Temples and Centers: ISKCON operates temples and cultural centers globally, which serve as the primary place of worship and community gathering. Each center is typically managed by a local management team and overseen by regional leaders.

Festivals and Celebrations: ISKCON holds numerous festivals and celebrations throughout the year, which serve as a means of spreading its message and attracting new members.

Education and Training: The organization runs schools and provides training programs to its members, with the aim of promoting a deeper understanding of its teachings and practices.

Social and Charitable Work: ISKCON is involved in various social and charitable initiatives, including food distribution programs, health clinics, and other community service activities.

The overall functioning of ISKCON is guided by its core principles, including the promotion of Bhakti Yoga, the worship of Lord Krishna, and the practice of compassion and service to others.

Most Beautiful Temple of Bhagwan Shri Krishna ji in Pune. The atmosphere here is very peaceful and is filled with love and spirituality. Also There is another beautiful temple of Bhagwan Shri Venkatesh ji inside the premises of the temple. Cleanliness is maintained everywhere at this temple and visit to this temple will surely make you feel Very much Happy. You can also find books and gifts shops in temple premises where variety of books and gifts are available. It is located on Katraj Kondhwa road and is easily accessible by PMPML Bus from Katraj or Hadapsar. Do visit the temple to have darshan of Bhagwan Shri Krishna Ji and be filled with love and peace.

Our recent visit to the ISKCON temple was extremely mesmerising. The construction of the temple is just marvellous and the beauty of the architecture and the location around the temple is quite impressive. The temple's architecture is stunning, with beautiful golden decorations reflecting the site's majesty and dedication. The deities are elegantly wrapped, and the decorations are bright, resulting in a peaceful and spiritual atmosphere. The temple priests performed the ceremonies with tremendous devotion, which contributed to the spiritual mood. The general cleanliness and upkeep of the temple grounds was outstanding. This temple is a must-see for everyone looking for a relaxing and spiritual experience. The Govindam restaurant provide very good tasty food at the entry gate. They provide accommodation at a reasonable price. Such a nice place to visit, simple and cool Atmosphere. Everything is organised and cleanliness is at it most.

Calm, beautiful and spiritual place to enjoy your mornings or evenings. We reached there a little late around 12.15pm but it turned out to be a good time to visit there. As at 12:30pm is for Aarti time. We had an opportunity to attend the Aarti and have the Darshan until 1pm. As after 1pm Mandir will be closed for Darshan but the other parts of Mandir can still be accessed. We purchased the Bhagvad Gita from this place for which the price is very less. Overall a good experience.

A very nice place to spend time with family. What's better than chanting Hare Krishna with devotees, when you have free time. 🙏 Just take care while entering the road to the temple. It's a bit narrow and if you miss it, you will need to take a long route for the roundabout.

ISKCON NVCC is not just a temple, it’s an experience of peace and devotion. The atmosphere is serene, beautifully maintained, and filled with positive energy. After darshan, we were offered a free lunch (prasadam), which was simple, sattvic, and absolutely satisfying. The meal included hot rice, dal, sabzi — all served with love. It felt like true spiritual nourishment, both for the body and the soul. The volunteers were polite and served everyone with a smile, making the experience even more special. The prasad is served after the afternoon aarti. If you’re visiting Pune, this place is a must — not just for the divine environment but also for the sense of community and kindness that comes with the meal. Truly blessed to have visited.
